Your Nissan has plenty of features that offer protection to you and your passengers while driving, but you also need protective systems while it's parked. An effective door lock system is essential for protecting your Nissan while it's not in use, and the Door Lock Cylinder (Left) is a fundamental piece of your door locks.

The Door Lock Cylinder (Left), as its name suggests, is a cylinder (made of strong metal) that's housed inside the door handles on your Nissan. Any time you insert a physical key or press a button using your keyless entry system, the lock cylinder moves , which allows your door to be opened. Not surprisingly, a finicky lock cylinder could potentially lock you out of your Nissan. Over time, it might even become jammed, at which point it would be unusable.
